The firearm used to shoot Trayvon Martin in a 2012 case that galvanized the nation was on sale for $5,000 on Thursday, generating interest from potential buyers and a torrent of denunciations.
For George Zimmerman, the former neighborhood watch volunteer who was acquitted of murder charges in the killing of Mr. Martin, a black 17-year-old, the announcement of the sale was the latest in a string of episodes that attracted national scrutiny. Mr. Zimmerman set off outrage in September by retweeting an image of Mr. Martin’s corpse.
Mr. Zimmerman, 32, announced that he intended to auction the handgun he had used in the killing. He said that the firearm had recently been returned to him by the Justice Department and that he hoped to use some of the proceeds to fight violence against law enforcement officers by members of Black Lives Matter; to ensure “the demise” of the career of Angela Corey, the prosecutor who put him on trial; and to counter Hillary Clinton’s “anti-firearm rhetoric.”
Mr. Martin’s mother, Sybrina Fulton, has been on the campaign trail with Mrs. Clinton, the likely Democratic nominee for president.
“This is a piece of American history,” Mr. Zimmerman wrote on the listing.
A listing for the weapon, a Kel-Tec PF-9, appeared on the auction website gunbroker.com but was quickly removed. The page displayed a note that said, “Sorry, but the item you have requested is no longer in the system.”
Multiple email and phone messages left with gunbroker.com, based in Georgia, were not answered on Thursday.
The ad reappeared later on unitedgungroup.com.
Mr. Zimmerman told an Orlando newspaper that the first auction site could not handle the web traffic or the publicity.

Mr. Zimmerman’s auction plan incited a wave of denunciations from critics, among them politicians, sports figures and Hollywood entertainers. Representative Hakeem Jeffries, a Democrat from Brooklyn, released a statement calling Mr. Zimmerman a “coldblooded killer” who should be in prison. On Twitter, the move was described as “sick,” “disgusting” and “beyond tasteless.”
It would not be the first time Mr. Zimmerman found a way to try to monetize Trayvon’s death.
A fund-raising site he set up seeking donations shortly after his arrest brought in about $200,000 in less than a month. Mr. Zimmerman and his then-wife, Shellie, spent $36,000 of that in less than three weeks with car payments, paying off their credit cards, buying cellphones and paying phone contracts in advance.
Mr. Zimmerman then created another legal defense site, with autographed thank you cards sent in exchange for donations. Mr. Zimmerman’s former lawyer, Mark O’Mara, said that despite the fund, he is still owed about $1 million.
“He knows he owes me some money,” Mr. O’Mara said. “He doesn’t have it, and I’m moving on. If he wins the lottery, I may want my million.”
Mr. Zimmerman, who was an insurance underwriter and college student in 2012, has since sold paintings online. He signed autographs at a gun show, but the organizer said Mr. Zimmerman was not paid for the appearance.
In fact, the booth at the show cost him about $60, the organizer, Mike Piwowarski, said. “He just wanted to meet people,” Mr. Piwowarski said. “He wanted to tell people thank you.”
In 2014, a boxing match with the rapper DMX was scrapped when the promoter had second thoughts.
Benjamin Crump, a lawyer for Trayvon’s parents, said the family was appalled by the proposed gun sale.
“It’s insulting,” Mr. Crump said. “To everybody else — the public, the media — it’s a hashtag, it’s a cause, it’s a news story. To them, that’s their child.”
Mr. Zimmerman defended the auction plan on Wednesday during an interview with WOFL, a broadcaster in Orlando.
“I’m a free American; I can do what I’d like with my possessions,” he said, adding: “I thought it’s time to move past the firearm. And if I sell it and it sells, I move past it. Otherwise, it’s going in a safe for my grandkids and never to be used or seen again.”
Four months after his 2013 acquittal, he was arrested and charged with domestic aggravated assault after he and his girlfriend had an argument at their home. The case was later dropped.
Last year, he was injured during a violent confrontation with another motorist in Central Florida. The man fired a gun into Mr. Zimmerman’s truck, causing him to be injured by flying glass. Mr. Zimmerman suggested that Thursday’s auction was timed to coincide with the anniversary of that confrontation, which happened on May 11, 2015.
Last August, news outlets reported that a Florida gun store that had been sued for declaring a “Muslim-free zone” had started selling prints of a Confederate flag painted by Mr. Zimmerman.
Asked on Wednesday about the criticism he could expect over the gun auction, Mr. Zimmerman told WOFL, “They’re not going to be bidding on it, so I couldn’t care less about them.”
He told the station that he had faced repeated threats against his life. “What I’ve decided to do is not cower,” he said.
Mr. Zimmerman ended his auction listing with the Roman saying “Si vis pacem, para bellum.” It translates to “If you want peace, prepare for war.”

The beloved mother of Tupac Shakur, Afeni Shakur, has died at the age of 69.
The Marin County Sheriff’s Department in California (in North San Francisco Bay Area) confirmed Shakur died late Monday night [May 2, 2016]. Officials have not released a cause of death.
Born Alice Faye Williams in Lumberton, North Carolina in 1947, Shakur lived between New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Georgia and California throughout her life. She changed her name to Afeni Shakur when she joined the Black Panther movement. She and other party members were arrested in 1969 and charged with conspiracy to bomb multiple, busy city landmarks in a case where she defended herself (and was pregnant with Tupac at the time). In May 1971, she was acquitted on all charges and gave birth to ‘Pac just one month later.
After Tupac’s 1996 shooting death, Shakur took over the late rapper’s estate, which reportedly earns about $900,000 each year.
In 2014, Shakur co-produced Holler If Ya Here Me, a Broadway jukebox musical featuring her son’s music. She released a memoir, Evolution Of A Revolutionary, with Jasmine Guy in 2004.

-#WTF – Mom Kills Her 3 Children Then Commits Suicide in Cobb County Apartment!
COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Police tell Channel 2 Action News that a mother has killed three children inside an Austell apartment complex.
Cobb County police identify the mother as Kisha Holmes, of Austell. They did not release the names of the children, but said the victims were a 9-month-old girl, a 4-year-old boy and a 10-year-old boy.
Investigators said Holmes killed the children and then took her own life. Police said a maintenance man found the bodies.
“I actually heard him running down the steps, but I just heard him say, ‘Maintenance man, maintenance man,'” said neighbor Reshaun Johnson.
Johnson could tell the maintenance man saw something he didn’t like.
Minutes later police had surrounded building 500 and soon a medical crew removed four bodies from the Walton Crossing apartment.
“My understanding he was going in for routine maintenance, something to do with the air ducts, the vents and when he went in he discovered the bodies of multiple people inside,” said Sgt. Dana Pierce, with the Cobb County Police Department.
Police initially said little about the discovery, but said whatever happened was isolated to that apartment and no danger existed to the outside community.
“I just I just pray for the family,” said neighbor Roland Milton.
Martin told Channel 2’s Ross Cavitt that he drove to the complex when he heard what happened, worried about a particular person, but detectives told him it was someone else.
“They informed me it was a murder-suicide, a mother and three children, like the reports were saying,” Milton said.
Investigators set about the task of notifying other family about what happened while others wondered aloud how a mother could do something like this.
“That’s horrible. I couldn’t imagine. I have three daughters myself. I couldn’t never imagine harming my children or how it could get that bad,” Johnson said.

According to the New York Post, Mr. Lung used his wife’s phone to send something pretty risque to his mistress, and of course, he forgot to log out–a complete fail. His wife, Feng, didn’t even have to go through his phone to find dirt. She was practically presented with it. Rather than confront him or give him the silent treatment, Feng resorted to a more, well, dramatic form of retaliation: she chopped off his penis while he was asleep. With a scissors.
Mr. Lung rushed to the emergency room where doctors were able to somehow reattach his third leg, but Mrs. Lung was having none of it. She barged into the hospital room and sliced off her husbands precious limb AGAIN. To ensure it’s permanent absence from her husband’s body, Feng flung the penis out of a window onto the street, which is where she eventually fled to. Angered and penis-less, Fan chased her, and began to tussle with her in the hospital parking lot before authorities stepped in.
Lung’s penis, twice removed, has not been recovered.
-#WTF – 94 Year Old Woman Lay Dead for 14 Months While Her Daughter Lives Upstairs!
Authorities in Gloversville, New York, are investigating the death of a 94-year-old woman whose body may have been decomposing for nearly 14 months as her daughter lived upstairs.
Hope Ruller’s body was discovered Dec. 29 after police received a request from a relative to check on her welfare.
It appeared Ruller died as much as 14 months ago, but her death had never been reported, even though she shared the home with her daughter, Mary Kirsteen, and Kirsteen’s adult son.
An autopsy failed to determine a cause of death because Ruller’s body was severely decomposed, according to the Associated Press.
Investigators for the Gloversville Police Department are looking at the family’s financial records for a possible connection to Ruller’s death.
“Often times, when people fail to report the death of an elderly person, perhaps there is a financial motive,” District Attorney Louise Sira told Albany TWC News.
Richard Ruller, a son of the deceased woman who lived in Colorado, believes there is reason to be suspicious.
“I sent them Christmas cards. One to [my sister], one to my mom and I sent my mom money and the check was cashed,” he told News10.com.
He told the station that his sister told him back in May that his mother was doing well.
Police are treating the death as suspicious but have yet not labeled Kirsteen or her unnamed son a suspect in any crime, WNYT.com reports.
-#WOW – 5 Year Old Florida Girl Tossed From Bridge by Her Father!
A 5-year-old girl died early this morning after her father allegedly tossed her over the side of a bridge in St. Petersburg, Florida, police said.
The alleged incident occurred early today on the approach to the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, which connects St. Petersburg to Terry Ceia over Tampa Bay in the western part of the state.
A police officer, chasing a speeding driver they later identified as John Nicholas Jonchuck Jr., saw the person stop his car and allegedly throw the child from the bridge before driving away, St. Petersburg Police said. They stopped and apprehended Jonchuck about 30 minutes later.
Rescue crews found the girl, Phoebe, but were unable to resuscitate her, police said.
St. Petersburg Police Department spokesman Yolanda Fernandez said police are stunned by the incident.
“We have no idea why anybody would do something like this as to throw a child over a railing of a bridge into the water, let alone on a night like this and the temperatures and conditions that we have today,” she told ABC affiliate WFTS.
-#WOW – Va. State Trooper Pleads Guilty To Child Molestation, But Will Not Go To Prison or be Required To Register as Sex Offender!
Christopher Allen Carson, 30, pleaded guilty to a felony count of criminal solicitation, a count of contributing to delinquency of a minor and one count of exposing his penis to a child. Carson also pleaded guilty to two counts of loaning pornographic videos to a child.
Judge Herman A. Whisenant Jr. accepted Carson’s pleas as part of a bargain on the day Carson was to face a jury trial. Carson was originally charged with forcible sodomy, aggressive sexual battery and indecent liberties with a child.
Whisenant recommended a sentence of nine years in prison, all but 30 days of which to be suspended, and two years of probation. As part of the plea agreement, Carson does not have to register as a sex offender. Also as part of the agreement, two additional active charges of forcible sodomy and indecent liberties with a child will be dropped.
This man orally forced himself onto a sleeping 7th grader and he will only be going to jail for 30 days. Let that sink in.
Also, Carson will not have to comply with Virginia’s Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry Act.
To put into perspective the level of special treatment given to Carson we can look at a similar case in which the honorable Judge Herman A. Whisenant Jr. presided. Donald Hausen, 35, racked up similarly disgusting charges of aggravated sexual battery, manufacturing child pornography, distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography.
Whisenant gave him 66 years in jail and Hausen will also be required to register as a violent sex offender.
Hausen deserved this sentence, so did Carson. The only difference is that Christopher Allen Carson, was part of the team. Instead of being held to higher standards, like he should be, for being a police officer, Carson was given little to no punishment because of his badge.
Is this justice?
Joaquin Gonzalez Vicencio, 30, and Joaquin Berumen Cortes, 24, were caught growing marijuana in a forest in 2013 in Charlottesville, Va.. Neither one of these men had caused harm to anyone else.
Vicencio was sentenced to 11 years in a federal penitentiary and Cortes was sentenced to 10.
In America, child raping cops are let off while men trying to grow a plant are thrown in a cage. The deeper one digs into the corruption within court systems in the US, the more “Justice” looks like “Just Us.”

Veronica Rutledge, 29, remembered by friends and family as a ‘beautiful, young, loving mother’ after she was killed in a shooting accident at Idaho Walmart.
The woman who was accidentally shot dead by her two-year-old son in an Idaho Walmart is described by those who knew her as a gun lover, a motivated academic and a successful nuclear research scientist.
“She was a beautiful, young, loving mother who was taken much too soon,” Veronica Rutledge’s father-in-law, Terry Rutledge, told the Spokesman-Reciew. “She was out on what was supposed to be a fun-filled day with her son and nieces.”
Rutledge was shot at about 10.20am on Tuesday, in the electronics department of the Hayden, Idaho, Walmart. Kootenai County sheriffs said her son, sitting in the front of a shopping cart, reached into Rutledge’s purse, found her weapon and shot his mother.
“I mean, this is a pretty tragic incident right now that we’re dealing with,” Kootenai lieutenant Stu Miller told reporters on Tuesday. “When you have young children, small people, holiday season – it’s not a pleasant experience.”
While shopping with her son and nieces in the store, Rutledge carried a loaded small caliber hand gun, zippered in a pocket in her purse. The purse was a Christmas gift from her husband, Colt Rutledge, one designed specifically for concealed carry, the Washington Post reported.
“All the precautionary measures weren’t taken to ensure the safety of that weapon,” Miller said later.
Despite Miller’s comment, the Rutledges were reportedly experienced gun owners and shooters. Rutledge had a concealed carry permit, police said. She loved to hunt, shoot and camp, friends and family told the Washington Post.
“I think there is an attitude that we’re just a bunch of gunslingers, and that is not the case,” the mayor of her hometown told the Guardian.
“People do not overtly carry weapons all the time,” Blackfoot mayor Paul Loomis said. “My expectation whenever I meet somebody on the street is they might be packing, but that doesn’t cause me to pause or be concerned for me or the safety of our citizens.”
Rutledge was born Veronica Hendricks. She was valedictorian of her graduating class at Kootenai high school in 2004. Kootenai high is tiny – just 27 students graduated last year and 91 were enrolled in 2013. The whole district, in northern Idaho, had only 17 teachers district-wide.
Hendricks attended Northern Idaho College, married Rutledge in 2009 and graduated from the University of Idaho in 2010, majoring in chemistry.
She went on to become a nuclear research scientist working for Battelle’s Idaho National Laboratory, which claims to be the Department of Energy’s lead nuclear research laboratory. The lab has worked with the Department of Defense on armor and weaponry since the 1990s. Rutledge wrote several papers there, on topics such as nuclear waste and fuel processing.
Loomis said he had worked with Rutledge on an Idaho National Laboratory contract, while at his previous job at a manufacturing company.
“She was very competent,” said Loomis. “This is not somebody that is just a nut, let me tell you.”
Her interests and hobbies seemed to fit well into the state and city where she lived. Blackfoot, where Rutledge owned a home with her husband, is a small town where the Idaho National Laboratory is a major employer.
About 12,000 people live in Blackfoot, a city that bills itself as the “potato capital of the world”. Idaho, a largely rural state, has about 1.6 million residents, just more than the city of Philadelphia.
Being outdoors, even when weather in east Idaho is harsh, is a large part of life in Blackfoot, Loomis said.
“I think this morning when I got up it was 10 below [zero],” said Loomis. “So, it’s a hardy group.”
And the state also took pains to expand gun rights in recent years. This year, the legislature passed a law allowing concealed guns onto public college and university campuses, despite opposition from all eight of the state’s university presidents, the Idaho Statesman reported.
“Our concern is not a political concern about gun control,” said Loomis. “Our concern right now is for the welfare of that family.”
-#WOW – Florida Man Arrested for Decapitating Mother because she ‘NAGGED’ him!
OLDSMAR, Fla. — A Florida man was arrested on Wednesday after deputies say he decapitated his mother because she was “nagging him” about putting boxes away in the attic.
Christian Jose Gomez, 23, is charged with first-degree murder after deputies found 48-year-old Maria Suarez-Cassagne’s decapitated body outside the family’s home in Oldsmar.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Gomez hit his mother over the head with an axe before cutting her head off in the garage. He then dragged her body to the garbage outside the home, deputies said.
Deputies said Gomez had been “planning his mother’s murder” for two days.
Investigators said Gomez was angry over his mother “nagging” him to put boxes away in the attic.
-#WOW – Dashcam Shows Cop Drive Right By A Woman Whose Children Were Being Taken At Gunpoint!
“RIGHT HERE WHAT, BABY? IM ON A CALL!”
Those were the words uttered by 28-year veteran of the Dallas PD, Cpl. Les Richardson as he drove by a mother screaming for his help as her children were being taken at gunpoint.
Richardson was fired this week for his negligent actions in refusing to help Miesha Kilson who was flagging him down as her kids were being kidnapped by a deranged lunatic.
In September Miesha Kilson was being chased down by a crazed man with a gun, Steven Douglas. During the chase Kilson hit a curb which left her vehicle disabled. Douglas then came over to Kilson’s vehicle and proceeded to kidnap her children at gun point.
“He reached into the windows, pulls it out,” said Kilson. “And as the window exploded in my face, I actually thought he shot it; I didn’t know at the time. But I did see his hands up and he pulled [the window] out. And I looked over, and as I looked up out that passenger window, I swear I saw an angel ‘cause I saw a police car right at my car.”
In that police cruiser was Cpl Les Richardson; Kilson’s angel quickly vanished.
Douglas was eventually caught and killed by other Dallas police officers but not before kidnapping two children.
Disciplinary hearings were held last month in which Dallas police commanders recommended that Officer Les Richardson be terminated by Chief David Brown. Thankfully Chief Brown made the right choice to fire him.
The four allegations against Richardson were: dereliction of duty, improper comments, failure to immediately clear upon the completion of a call and use of tobacco products in a city vehicle.
Richardson has the right to appeal the charges and ask for his job back.
This firing was quite surprising considering that the that the police do not owe a specific duty to provide police services to individuals based on the public duty doctrine. In other words, police do not have a constitutional duty to protect a person from harm.
-#WOW – Fired UPS worker accused of stealing $160K diamond, trading it for $20 worth of marijuana
PHOENIX – A one-time UPS worker is accused of stealing a package containing a $160,000 diamond, and trading the valuable jewel for $20 worth of marijuana.
Walter Earl Morrison, 20, was working for UPS while unloading a plane in the cargo section of Sky Harbor Airport when he stuffed a package under his shirt, according to court documents.
Morrison thought the package contained cash, but instead he found a diamond.
“Any single stone over $100,000 is an expensive stone,” House of Diamonds owner Brent Taubman said when asked about pricey diamonds.
Morrison allegedly traded the diamond for the drug, before being caught.
The stolen diamond was recovered and delivered to the intended customer, a UPS spokesperson said.
UPS fired Morrison, the spokesperson added.
Authorities charged Morrison last week with felony theft.
A man who would not open the door at Morrison’s home said he had no comment on the matter.
A Chinese restaurant owner has been arrested after allegedly lacing dishes with opium in an effort to keep customers coming back, BBC News reported.
The owner of the Yan’an noodle shop, known only as Zhang, admitted he bought 4.4 pounds of poppy buds in August. The buds contain the opium poppy seeds, from which the addictive narcotic opium is made.
Zhang allegedly crushed the buds into powder form and mixed them into menu items.
Police discovered the secret ingredient after one of Zhang’s customers, Liu Juyou, 26, tested positive for drugs during a routine traffic stop.
Cops held Juyou for 15 days until he sent relatives to the restaurant to eat the noodles in question. After the family members tested positive for drugs, police launched an investigation.
Zhang was arrested and detained for 10 days.
An anti-narcotics police agent told BBC News that chemicals from poppy can build up in the body and create a positive result on an opiate drug test. Ingesting the food over a long period of time can even have an addictive effect.
Unprocessed poppy seeds used to be a popular ingredient in Chinese fare, but their use has since been banned, according to the BBC.

-#WOW – Mom Accused of Snorting Drugs Prior to Breastfeeding, Pleads Not Guilty to Infant’s Death.
Court documents accuse the mother, Reanne Rose Pederson, 32, of snorting hydrocodone before breastfeeding her newborn son, Avery, according to ABC affiliate WDAY. Avery’s grandmother and aunt say Avery’s mother is to blame.
In July this year, prosecutors had filed charges filed against Reanne Rose Pederson, saying she had snorted hydrocodone immediately before breastfeeding her son, Avery, at about 11:00 PM, June 13.
After falling asleep while breastfeeding, Pederson awoke an hour and a half later, and the baby was unresponsive. Police said the baby died at the hospital, in the early morning of June 14 after officers were unable to resuscitate him.
Initially, Pederson thought she had smothered the child, though police believe her drug use was a factor in Avery’s death. A West Fargo detective interviewed a doctor, who believes that “the effects of the hydrocodone would be substantially heightened by snorting it, and would make the user drowsy and dizzy, with labored breathing.”
“Having those effects and then immediately thereafter breastfeeding a baby would be very dangerous to the child,” the police affidavit said.
Robbie Lee, a witness, told West Fargo police that Pederson had smoked methamphetamine days before delivering Avery.
Pederson is charged with a single count of negligent homicide, a Class C felony, and with ingesting methamphetamine, a Class A misdemeanor. She faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
-#WOW – Florida Woman Arrested During Traffic Stop After Officers Find 5 Month Old Child In Her Trunk…
A woman was arrested Tuesday after deputies pulled her over and found her baby in the trunk of a car.
Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies said Breona Watkins, 19, passed her 5-month-old baby to the back seat and a 14-year-old passenger placed the boy in the trunk through an opening in the back seat.
According to the arrest report, the deputy pulled Watkins over because of a broken headline and for stopping at an intersection while other vehicles were forced to go around her car.
The deputy said Watkins did not stop her car right away. When she did, she gave the deputy a fake name, and later admitted that she did so because she did not have a valid driver’s license.
During the course of the traffic stop, deputies opened Watkins’ trunk after hearing what sounded like a baby crying.
The infant was found lying on top of several dangerous items, including a large pair of bush-cutting shears, a rusted tire iron and a rusted metal hanger. A used gas can and fuel pump were also found in the trunk.
Deputies said the baby had been in the trunk for about 15 minutes, and at no time did Watkins or the passenger tell deputies that the baby was there.
According to the arrest report, after the baby was found, Watkins told deputies she ordered the 14-year-old boy to put the baby in the trunk, because she was scared she would be ticketed since he was sitting on the boy’s lap and not in a car seat.
Watkins was being held at the main Broward County jail on seven charges, including child abuse. Her bond was set at $7,000.
Wakins’ grandmother told Local 10 News that the incident was just a big mistake.
“She got frightened and she did what any child would do, because she is still a child,” said Laura Richardson. “She is a good mother, but she is still young and she just made a mistake.”
The baby was in the custody of the Department of Children and Families, and is expected to be given to Watkins’ grandmother pending a home study.
DCF officials said Watkins will have supervised visits if a guardian ad litem signs off on that decision.
-#WOW – Worker charged with tampering with pizza!!!
An 18-year-old pizza store employee in Texas has been charged with a felony after police say he rubbed his genitals on food he was preparing for a customer.
The Georgetown Police Department arrested Austin Symonds last week and charged him with tampering with a consumer product. A Papa Murphy’s customer who ordered food on Sept. 2 told police he caught Symonds. Police say Symonds admitted that he would have given the pizza to the customer if he hadn’t been caught.
A store employee tells the Austin American-Statesman that Symonds has been fired.
Symonds was released from the Williamson County Jail after posting $10,000 bond. Online jail records didn’t indicate an attorney.

McDonald’s Uses Worm Meat Fillers But Can Legally Call It 100% Beef. Large companies have been the subject of rumors that they substitute unusual or unethical substances in their products, usually to decrease costs. McDonald’s is not imm
une to such claims. McDonald’s has been accused of using everything from worms to cow eyeballs in its burgers. Dating far back to at least 1978, there have been rumors that McDonald’s restaurants use earthworms in their hamburgers.
The fact that McDonald’s uses cow eyeballs and worm fillers does not stop them from legally using the claim that they served 100% beef. McDonald’s has assured its consumers that its product contains 100% beef. They are allowed to do this because McDonald’s buys their “beef” from a company called “100% Beef Company”, making it possible for McDonald’s to call beef byproducts and soy products “100% beef”.
McDonald’s then ships the beef to their grinding facility in Oak Brook, Illinois where they then take the ground worm filler and add it to their “100% beef patties”. McDonald’s serves billions of people around the world every year. This allows them to produce a higher profit margin by increasing the amount of patties that can be made, by increasing their product load with the worm filler. The worm filler is ground and packaged in a facility next to McDonald’s corporate headquarters in Oak Brook, Illinois. The employees must sign a confidentiality waiver to never discuss the ingredients of the McDonald’s food products or face termination and legal repercussions. However many employees have stepped up over the years with the truth and have created a huge controversy over the quality of food that the company produces.

April 13, 2014 — Police accused a Utah woman of killing seven babies she gave birth to over 10 years after they found the tiny bodies stuffed in cardboard boxes in the garage of her former home.
Megan Huntsman lived in the Pleasant Grove home until three years ago and was arrested Sunday. Police say the 39-year-old birthed the infants from 1996 to 2006.
Police Capt. Michael Roberts says officers responded to a call Saturday from Huntsman’s estranged husband about a dead infant at the home about 35 miles south of Salt Lake City. Officers then discovered the six other bodies.
Roberts says the man had lived with Huntsman but isn’t a person of interest.
Huntsman was booked into jail on six counts of murder. Roberts says it wasn’t clear if she has an attorney.
-#WTF – Violent Weekend in Chicago Leaves 4 Dead, 30 Wounded
Over the span of 36 hours from Friday afternoon into early Sunday morning , at least 35 people were shot, four fatally, in Chicago. More than half of those shootings were in the last 12 hours of that time period.
Police responded to at least 26 separate incidents, starting at 3:30 p.m. Friday in the West Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side during an attack that left one dead and two other people wounded, police said. There were also fatal shootings in the South Shore neighborhood Friday night and in the Washington Park neighborhood early Sunday, both on the South Side.
The fourth murder was also early Sunday, about 1:10 a.m. in the 3000 block of West 53rd Place in the Gage Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side. The shooting victim, identified by the Cook County medical examiner’s office as Joshua Martinez of the 4900 block of South Karlov Avenue, whose body lay on a sidewalk in front of the brick bungalow.
Shards of glass from the home’s front door salted the steps early Sunday morning. Martinez’ body lay face down on the sidewalk, covered in a white sheet. His feet rested on the bottom steps of the bungalow home that is common to Gage Park.
Police said a “known offender” shot him and that the shooting may be gang-related. As the investigators tried to stretch out blankets to hide the man’s body from family and friends who had gathered, the boy’s mother confronted police in a forceful but controlled manner: “I just want to see my son.”
Once more she spoke, her voice sounding a little more agitated: “OK, OK, I just want to see my son.”
A young man standing with other teens and early-20-somethings opposite the family struggled to hold back a sob, covered his face and ducked behind an SUV when he couldn’t. Nobody at the scene would talk.
In other shootings:
Two people were shot about 2:40 a.m. in the 6000 block of South Indiana Avenue in the Washington Park neighborhood on the South Side, police said. A 32-year-old man was hit in the upper chest and died at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County. A 27-year-old woman was also hit in the leg. Both were taken to Stroger hospital.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the man as Corey Brownlee, of the same block where he was shot. He was pronounced dead at 3:26 a.m.
About 4:10 a.m., a 20-year-old man was shot in the 5400 block of West Diversey Avenue in the Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side. He was wounded in the stomach and taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. Police said he was arguing with his girlfriend when someone else intervened and shot him, though police said he was too intoxicated to provide much information about who may have shot him.
About 2:30 a.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in the forearm twice in the 1500 block of West 18th Place in the Pilsen neighborhood, police said. He was shot blocks from where two people were shot last night. The man was taken to the University of Illinois Hospital in good condition.
About 12:30 a.m. a 28-year-old woman was shot in the head in the intersection of Grand and Kedzie avenues in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side, police said. She was northbound on Kedzie Avenue, driving an SUV with another man in the car, when someone pulled alongside in an SUV and opened fire. She was hit in the head and was in critical condition at Stroger hospital.
About the same time in the 3800 block of West Roosevelt Road in the Lawndale neighborhood, an 18-year-old man was shot in the leg, police said. He was walking with a group and fled at the sound of gunfire but realized he had been shot. He is in stable condition at Mount Sinai Hospital.
About 11:55 p.m., two people were shot in the 10000 block of South Crandon Avenue in the South Deering neighborhood on the South Side. A man and a woman, each 42 years old, were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition. The man had a wound to his face and the woman was shot in the leg, police said.
A 30-year-old man was shot in the groin about 11:24 p.m. in the 4900 block of West Hubbard Avenue in the South Austin neighborhood, police said. He was taken to Stroger hospital.
Someone shot a 26-year-old woman in the hip in the 5900 block of South Halsted Street in Englewood neighborhood about 11:10 p.m., Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said. A man walking with two others approached and fired twice, hitting her in the right leg. She’s in stable condition at Stroger hospital.
Three people standing on a sidewalk in Logan Square, near the intersection of North and Washtenaw avenues, were shot about 10:25 p.m., police said. Someone who passed by in a dark SUV shot a 25-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman. The man took himself to Norwegian-American Hospital and was transferred to Stroger hospital. He suffered a wound to his abdomen. The woman he was with was shot in the calf and walked into Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center, Alfaro said. Police didn’t learn of the third person shot until hours later, when the man walked into Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center with an ankle wound.
About 10:10 p.m. a 22-year-old man was shot in the 0-100 block of North Pulaski Road, north of Madison Street in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side. He was shot in the side and taken to Stroger hospital in serious condition, police said. A pistol with an extended magazine was found behind a white truck inside the crime scene.
Earlier, a 16-year-old boy sustained a gunshot wound to his right leg on the 4500 block of South Champlain Avenue, in the Grand Boulevard neighborhood, said News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney.The shooting happened at 6:40 p.m. and the teen was taken to the University of Chicago Hospital in good condition, Sweeney said. The teen was standing in a courtyard at that location when a person stepped out and began firing, Sweeney said. Area South detectives were investigating.
Police are speaking with a 24-year-old man who showed up at Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center at about 2:25 p.m. to be treated for a gunshot wound, police said. The man was shot in the right hand on the 5200 block of West Wellington Avenue in the Cragin neighborhood, police said. His condition had stabilized, said Sweeney.
At 4:55 p.m. a 30-year-old man was shot on the 400 block of West 126th Street in the West Pullman neighborhood, said Sweeney. The man was shot in the left leg and was taken to Metro South Hospital in good condition, said Sweeney.
Aside from the 18 people shot, a 25-year-old man walked into Stroger hospital Saturday afternoon and said he was shot about 2 a.m. near 59th Street and Talman Avenue in Gage Park early Saturday morning. He was shot in the side but it’s not clear why he delayed seeking medical attention.

-#WTF – 1 Dead, 14 Wounded In Overnight Shootings, Including 6 at West Side Party
A pair of gunmen shot six people at a West Side party early Saturday morning – one opened fire toward a back porch from an alley while someone else opened fire from the front door as party goers tried to run inside.
The first to open fire was an unknown gunman from the alley, Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said. People running back into the apartment building from the back porch were confronted by a man at the front door who also opened fire, he said.
One of the six, a 24-year-old man, died from a head wound at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, police said. He and at least one other person were found by police at the scene, at the corner of Wilcox Street and Kostner Avenue. The rest made it into area hospitals without the help of paramedics.
The man killed has been identified as Jordan Harris.
Five people survived the attack. A 25-year-old woman is in stable condition at Stroger hospital. Three people – a 23-year-old man, a 32-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman – were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. The youngest of the three is in critical condition with back and shoulder wounds, Gaines said. The other two are in stable condition – the man with an abdomen wound and the woman with a foot wound.
A 43-year-old who walked into Rush University Medical Center with a leg wound is also in good condition, Gaines said.
A number of the party goers appeared intoxicated, cursed at police, ran under the crime scene tape and shouted in general about the poor police response.
Police blocked traffic on Kostner Avenue in both directions about a block each side of the crime scene.
Eight others were wounded in shootings across the city overnight.
A 23-year-old driving a Volvo was shot as he drove in the 1900 block of North Mozart Street in the Logan Square neighborhood. Someone emerged from between cars and shot at the car, Gaines said. The 23-year-old was bruised by a bullet that broke the back window and hit his back seat but did not penetrate his back.
A 24-year-old man was wounded in the 500 block of South Clinton Street about 12:15 a.m. He was standing outside when someone in a vehicle shot at him, police said. He walked into Rush University Medical Center with a leg wound and was transferred to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said.
Earlier, a 16-year-old boy who was shot last month and a 20-year-old man he was with were shot Friday night in the East Garfield Park neighborhood.
The two people shot were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital – the teen with a wound to his back and in serious condition and the man with a wound to his buttocks.
Later Friday, two men were shot on the South Side within about 15 minutes of each other.
A 30-year-old man was shot in the abdomen and shoulder in the 9600 block of South Carpenter Street in the Longwood Manor neighborhood. He’s in serious condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center.
No one is in custody. Detectives knocked on doors in the neighborhood, and were answered by mostly annoyed residents who had been sleeping and said they didn’t see or hear anything.
About 11:20 p.m. in the West Englewood neighborhood, a man whose age wasn’t available was shot twice in the back and taken to an area hospital. He was wounded near 61st Street and Hermitage Avenue.
Earlier, a man and a woman were wounded tonight in separate shootings in the city’s Humboldt Park and Lawndale neighborhoods.
The first shoooting happened about 8 p.m. on the 900 block of North Monticello Avenue in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, according to Police News Affairs.
In that shooting a 27-year-old woman suffered gunshot wounds and was being treated at Norwegian-American Hospital where her condition was stabilized, said police.
Ten minutes later, a 21-year-old man was shot in the city’s Lawndale neighborhood, said police.
That shooting happened on the 1200 block of South Tripp Avenue. The man suffered a wound to his left leg and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was listed as in stable condition, said police.
As of 8:57 p.m., no one was in custody for either shooting and police were investigating.

-#WTF – Mother Charged After 6 Year Old Found Frozen to Death in Negative 30 Degree Temperatures
A mother in Minnesota has been arrested for doing something to her daughter that no parent would ever consider doing in their right mind. Rachel Downer, a 22 year old mother of a six year old child, was arrested and charged with second degree manslaughter after her daughter Mercedes Mayfield was found frozen to death outside her home.
In addition to the manslaughter charge, Downer is also going to be charged with felony neglect of a child.
Police say that the girl was found unconscious outside her mother’s apartment building after being left out in the cold for hours in temperatures that were as low as 30 degrees below zero.
The first-grader was found by her mother and a neighbor, who both called 911.
“The child had signs of being exposed to the frigid elements and was pronounced deceased at the scene,” according to a police press release.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s office said that the child died from hypothermia. The grieving mother went to Facebook and posted images of her daughter with the words “Gone but not forgotten.”
Despite her pleas of grief, the mother is still set to be charged this week for what happened to the child. Police are investigating whether she left the child outside deliberately or by accident. But the charges being pressed indicate that they have reason to suspect that it was done deliberately.
May the child rest in peace.
-#WTF – Teacher Yanks 7-Year-Old Students Teeth Out For Chewing On Her Sweater
PHILADELPHIA – February 19, 2014 (WPVI) — A 7-year-old with special needs is missing teeth Wednesday night after an adult pulled a sweater from her mouth.
7-year-old Harmani Osbey is missing her three front teeth.
The baby teeth would have fallen out own their own eventually, but by most accounts, they were yanked out by and adult, forcefully, Tuesday in her classroom at Solomon Solis Cohen School in Northeast Philadelphia.
“I understand Harmani is difficult some days, but she did not deserve that at all,” said Harmani’s mother Tomeka Speller.
Tomeka Speller explained that her 2nd grader gets in-school counseling for emotional problems from a therapist hired from an outside agency by the school district.
Tuesday morning, that therapist and four other adults were in the classroom.
Harmani was chewing on this sweater vest. The therapist told her to take it out of her mouth, and when she didn’t, Harmani said she pulled it out.
“She come like this and pulled it real hard,” said Harmani Osbey.
“Come behind her and yanked her vest out of her mouth and her teeth flew out; three of her teeth,” said Speller.
“I was scared,” said Harmani.
Other adults in the room including the teacher gave the same account in written statements.
They wrote: “The child was chewing on the vest when the therapist yanked it from her mouth pulling out the teeth and afterward the girl was bleeding. The school nurse called her mother.”
“I was just angry. I was hurt. I was just so hurt that someone could do that to a child; not just any child, my child,” said Speller.
“We were shocked that this occurred,” said Fernando Gallard.
District spokesperson Fernando Gallard said that an investigation is underway, a police report has been filed and DHS notified.
“It is a contracted worker, and we are working with that contractor to make sure the individual does not return to any of our schools,” said Gallard.
Tomeka Speller says she will press police to file criminal charges and she wants her daughter moved to a different school.
She also wants the woman who was hired to counsel her daughter to get counseling herself.

A Florida woman left her two young children–ages five and three–unattended in her car for several hours while she attended a Lil Wayne concert last night, cops report.
Brittany Harris, 25, was arrested on a pair of child neglect charges after the children were left unsupervised in a parking lot at the South Florida Fairgrounds, according to a Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office report. 
Pictured in the adjacent mug shot, Harris attended the Lil Wayne show at the 19,000-seat Cruzan Amphitheatre. Booked into the county jail late last night, Harris is being held in lieu of $10,000 bond on each felony count.
After spotting the children standing near a Nissan Altima around 9:45 PM, an arena employee spoke to them and learned that Harris “went into the concert and left them to stay in the car.” The worker then escorted the children to a venue gate, where he turned them over to sheriff’s deputies.
At around 10:30 PM, after the concert ended, investigators located Harris in the parking lot. After initially claiming that her cousin had brought her children to the fairgrounds, Harris “confessed that she came here and left the kids to stay in the car so she could watch the concert.”
Since the children “were left unsupervised for several hours” in a “busy parking lot with an estimated 9000 patrons, numerous vehicles and intoxicated persons,” Harris was arrested and taken to jail. Simultaneously, child welfare workers were “notified to take possession of the kids” deputies reported.

Toyrianna Smith, along with her 3-year-old daughter and and 3-month-old son, spent the night partying at a friend’s house in Harvey, Illinois. Instead of heading home, the trio decided to sleep in a spare bedroom that night. But the baby boy was fitful during the wee hours…
He began to cry. Smith, apparently hammered and pissed that her sleep was being disturbed, decided to quell his outburst by putting a blanket over his head, then punching him multiple times in the face until he was quiet. The baby would cry again later that night. So Smith took on a more forceful approach to parenting. She again put a blanket over his head and punched him repeatedly in the face. Then she pushed down on his head, apparently suffocated him. His legs and arms began to jerk until he was still. Smith went back to sleep to get her beauty rest. The next morning, she got the baby dressed and took him shopping for several hours. Then she stopped by a neighbor’s house to visit. But the neighbor noticed the boy wasn’t moving. Smith tried to claim he was sleeping, yet there was blood on the child’s blanket. Blood, the neighbor deduced, isn’t a natural byproduct of slumber. So she called 911. An ambulance rushed the boy to a hospital, where doctors discovered he’d been dead for approximately eight hours. Police say Smith confessed and provided details of the slaying. She’s now charged with first-degree murder and is stuck in the slam on a $1 million bond.
-#WTF – Mother Arrested For Jamming Vibrator Up Her Baby’s Anus
21-year-old Rickesha Burns from Phoenix, Arizona is being held by police after her two-year-old son was admitted to hospital with a bleeding back-passage.
Doctors who examined the boy found a number of injuries such as bruises on his neck and hip. They also discovered his mum’s sex toy jammed so far up his bunghole that it will require surgery to remove it.
Burns, who was previously investigated for child abuse in 2011 but never charged, blames the dildo insertion on an unknown teenager at the local park. According to the mother’s statement she told cops she was at the park with her son when she was distracted for just ten seconds by a text message, when she looked up from her mobile phone a teenage boy was doing ‘something’ to her son. Burns does admit that the vibrator in the rectum belongs to her.
Medics say it looks as if the bleeding may be the result of someone trying to remove the sex toy from the toddler’s anal cavity using a wire coat-hanger.
The little chap has been booked in for surgery, and his mum has been booked in the Phoenix jail, without bond. She was charged with sexual conduct with a minor, and child abuse.
–#WTF – AGAIN??? Black Woman Shot Dead While Seeking Help In White Neighborhood After Car Crash

If you thought what happened to Jonathan Ferrell last month was horrific, wait until you hear about the slaying of 19-year-old Renisha McBride.
At around 2:30am on Saturday morning, McBride got into a car accident near Dearborn Heights, a suburb around Detroit. Her cell phone battery was dead so she went to nearby home to seek help. But after knocking on the door, McBride was killed by a gunshot wound to the head. (Update: McBride’s family told Detroit Free Press that she was shot in the back of the head as she was turning to leave.)
Dearborn Heights police initially told McBride’s family that her body was found dumped near Warren Avenue and Outer Drive, but that story quickly changed. Not only are police refusing to release the identity of the man who shot McBride, they’re now saying she was mistaken for an intruder and shot in self-defense on the homeowner’s front porch. Even if that’s the case, and there’s reason to believe it’s not, the shooter still failed to call 911 after shooting an unarmed woman in the head, instead leaving her there to die. Does that sound like the behavior of a law-abiding gunowner who made a tragic mistake?
Bernita Spinks, McBride’s aunt, told The Detroit News that the shooting was unjustified regardless of whether or not the shooter believed she was an intruder.
“He shot her in the head … for what? For knocking on his door,” said Spinks on Tuesday. “If he felt scared or threatened, he should have called 911.”
Spinks said the family met with officials from the Prosecutor’s Office on Tuesday. Spinks said she believes her niece was racially profiled.
“You see a young black lady on your porch and you shoot?” said Spinks.
“He killed my niece and he needs to pay for it. He needs to be in jail.
“There was no window broken. My niece didn’t bother anyone. She went looking for help and now she’s dead.”
Detroit News reports that police, despite changing the initial story, sent a request to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office today asking for charges to be filed against the man who shot Mcbride. But that’s no guarantee the charges will stick given that Michigan is a Stand Your Ground state. And, as is usually the case with Stand Your Ground, race may have played a role in McBride’s death.
She is, after all, a black woman from Detroit, which is 82 percent black, whereas Dearborn Heights, the area she was shot in, is 86 percent white. As I’ve noted here before:
The problem with a law like Stand Your Ground is that it excuses and encourages deadly force against “perceived” threats. In the United States, where implicit and structural racism persists on a vast scale, is it wise to empower people who almost certainly have irrational and racist fears, to kill instead of call police who are trained (at least they’re supposed to be) to deal with potential threats?
Race also appears to play a significant role in whether a homicide is deemed justifiable. A recent study conducted by John Roman of the Urban Institute’s Justice Policy Center found, “the odds that a white-on-black homicide is ruled to have been justified is more than 11 times the odds a black-on-white shooting is ruled justified,” a reflection of the racial disparities that plague all aspects of the US criminal justice system.
Regardless of your position on Stand Your Ground, one thing is for sure. The family of 19-year-old Renisha McBride deserves answers.
UPDATE: Detroit Free Press reporters Niraj Warikoo and Bill Laitner uncovered new details surrounding Renisha McBride’s death. Among the most shocking revelations is that, according to McBride’s family, she was shot in the back of the head as she turned to leave the porch of the home she had sought help from.
Bernita Spinks, McBride’s aunt, told Free Press that the man who killed her niece was arrested but then released. She added that McBride was “disoriented” and “scared” after her 2001 Ford Taurus was struck by another car about four blocks from where she was killed. After the crash, she parked and walked to find help, “knocking on people’s doors,” said Spinks, who went on to compare the shooting to that of Trayvon Martin.
As for the fate of McBride’s killer:
A warrant request was submitted to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office on Wednesday, but the office has asked police for further investigation before a decision is made on whether any criminal charges will be authorized, according to Maria Miller, spokeswoman for the prosecutor’s office.
-#WTF – Homeless Man Lay Dead For A Day As Passersby Took Pictures Of Him
A homeless man in Houston was left dead on the sidewalk for close to a day as pedestrians walked by, doing nothing to help. Some even took photos of his lifeless body with their cellphones.
“If they just had used their cell phone to make a call instead of a picture, perhaps this man could still be alive today,” Sgt. Brian Harris of the Houston Police Department, told KHOU. “I would like to say our city is better than that, I know our city is better than that.”
Police said the man, who was discovered dead by a deputy constable on Tuesday, likely died of natural causes. His identity has not been determined.
The behavior of passersby in this case could have something to do with the bystander effect, a phenomenon in which people fail to come to a person’s aid because they assume someone else will.
In 2010, after a homeless man was left to bleed to death on a New York City sidewalk, ABC News spoke with Paul Wolpe, director of Emory University’s Center for Ethics to try to determine why no one stepped in to help.
“Studies show that if a person comes across someone in need of help, being alone makes them more likely to help,” Wolpe said. “If there were 10 people, there is less of a sense of personal responsibility.”
-WTF – Wyoming Schools Implant RFID Chip In Students Without Consent
It had been three long months since I last visited the quiet mining town of Hanna, Wyoming while on task to cover the groundbreaking test launch of the Obamacare RFID chip. I finally decided it was time to catch up with the wonderful citizens of Carbon County and see how they have been doing with their RFID implants. Overall public opinion of the RFID seems to be positive among the Hanna, Wyoming’s townsfolk. I spoke with Earl Gentry, a retired miner, longtime resident of Hanna, Wyoming and one of the first recipients of the RFID Chip in his town. He told me the following: “Heck, I don’t know how I lived without one. I use the RFID Chip at the doctor’s office; I’m able to purchase food and clothing from all my favorite stores with it. I definitely believe our country would benefit from a federally mandated RFID law.” I was pleased to hear about the project’s success which recently lead to major advancements in RFID technology. At half the size of its predecessor the latest “MINI RFID” is able to hold over 100GB of data which can be easily updated to include medical records, insurance information, drivers license number as well as criminal history and some outstanding credit debts.
Wyoming recently saw several hundred elementary and middle school children being implanted with the new MINI RFID. During their annual physical checkup and vaccination last month, each child additionally received the implant between their pointing finger and thumb.
Some parents took issue with the school’s approach, claiming the schools did so without their foreknowledge or consent. Superintendent Gerald Morgan of the Carbon County school district tells National Report that most of these complaints come from families with heavily rooted religious backgrounds.
Xenophobia and superstitions are a common affliction among rural communities. Many fringe Christian sects believe Obama to be the Anti-Christ and the RFID chip the Mark of the Beast spoke about in their Book of Revelation. During the Second Coming and the arrival of the “Anti-Christ” all of humanity supposedly will be forced to accept the mark or perish. However, any who receive the brand of the Anti-Christ will be punished by the Christian God with eternal damnation.
The rest of the Wyomingites were ecstatic to welcome their town’s children into the fold. Citizens say they’ve never felt better since accepting the Obamacare RFID implant and are proud to be torch carriers for a safer and brighter future.
Janice Willowbrook, whose child goes to St. Paul middle school in Rawlins, Wyoming says she’s not bothered by what the school did. “I don’t mind that they went ahead and had my child implanted. I was going to do it anyway. If anything they saved me a stressful doctors visit.”
When asked why she thought some of the other parents were upset with the schools actions she told us “Unfortunately we still have some locals who are very old fashioned. They like to buy into all these nutty conspiracy theories and what-not. Believing everything their pastors say or the silly things they read on the internet. I hope that eventually we can all shed our fear of change and accept that this is the responsible thing to do as a country.”
I bid the peaceful town and its wonderful inhabitants farewell before heading off west into the approaching sunset. I enjoyed my time spent alone behind the wheel on those long stretches of highway illuminated only by car headlights and the occasional billboard. I drove and pondered the progress of the human race and all of the advancements we have made since our evolution from chimps. It left me feeling excited and hopeful for all of the grand new possibilities our future holds.

-#WTF – Heather Koon Raped Babies At Ohio Daycare, Filmed At Least One Incident
She was trusted to take care of defenseless children, but now one Ohio daycare worker is accused of doing the unthinkable — and filming it.
Heather Koon, 25, faces two counts of rape after police say they found video on her laptop of her “engaging in sexual conduct with an unknown infant.” An investigation also revealed an additional victim, according to WOIO.
Police allegedly found the video on Koon’s laptop at the apartment where her boyfriend, James Osborne, lives. Osborne is a registered sex offender. Both Koon and Osborne were arrested Oct. 4 within hours of each other, and were held at Lorain County Jail.
UPDATE: Oct. 8, 8:15 a.m. — At her arraignment Oct. 7, prosecutors said that the state has “very strong evidence” against Koon, and stated that her alleged victims were between the ages 1 and 2, WKYC reported. Her bond was set at $2 million — $1 million for each felony count.
WKYC reported that both sexual assaults took place at ABC Kidz child care in Elyria. Concerned parents said they fear their children may also be victims.
“He doesn’t like his diaper being changed. He doesn’t like being touched… When I used to drop him off there he used to scream so bad that he would be like hyperventilating,” Andrea Lankey, whose 2-year-old was under Koon’s care, told the station.
In a statement, Carlos Johnson, the attorney for ABC Kidz, said the company does not believe there were other victims:
“The daycare in cooperating with the investigation and we’re compiling a list to determine which kids were present while she, Heather Koon, worked there. We do not think there are more victims, but out of the abundance of cautiousness we want to make sure that we are correct.”
The father of the victim in the video told WOIO that representatives from ABC Kidz “tried to act like it was a simple assault” when they contacted him.
“A few hours later they called us back again and asked us to keep it discreet,” the father, who wishes to remain anonymous, told the station.
Sadly, this isn’t the first time a daycare employee has been accused of molesting children. In 2012, an instructor at a Pittsburgh daycare was sentenced to at least 35 years in prison for sexually assaulting 12 boys over a period of several years.

What is the world coming to? James Parham, an elderly man in Englewood, New Jersey, is being accused of running a prostitution ring out of a senior home living facility. According to police, the operation employed both older residents who lived at the facility, and younger women who did not. Parham, 75, and his alleged co-conspirator, Cheryl Chaney, 66, are also being accused of allowing the use of drugs in their units. Both are being charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a nuisance. Police say drug use was not only happening within the units, but also in the hallways, stairwells, and lobby of the senior living facility. Some residents said they feared for their lives because of the criminal element at the complex. One even told local reporters that he was aware of the prostitution ring. So far, no prostitutes were arrested.

–#WTF – American Government Shuts Down…What You CAN’T And CAN Do During A Shutdown 
No national parks. No Smithsonian. (And no Panda Cam.) No new applications for social security, no tax audits, no way to check that the employee you want to hire is a citizen.
The government officially shut down at midnight Oct. 1. Hundreds of thousands of federal workers were furloughed, and some of the D.C.-based services tourists and locals alike rely on will be closed.
Here’s a list of what you likely can and can’t do during a government shutdown. We’ll be adding to the list; if you know of something we’ve left off, email us (MTMDJs@gmai.com) and we’ll research it.
During a shutdown, you can: Get help from 911: All emergency services will continue as usual, including law enforcement and emergency and disaster assistance.
Get caught by a red light camera in D.C.: Red light cameras will still be running, and tickets will still be sent out, which brings us to the next item on the list….
Get mail: Employees of the United States Postal Service are exempt from furloughs.
Get your Social Security benefits: Payments will still be issued, although some could be delayed due to a reduction in workforce.
Get a passport, probably: The Bureau of Consular Affairs is funded by fees rather than appropriated funds, so it will continue to operate, a spokesperson tells NBC Washington. However, some State Department passport offices are located in federal buildings that may have to shut down, so you should check to see if your preferred passport office is open before visiting.
Sign up for healthcare exchanges: Despite the GOP’s attempts to defund or delay the Affordable Care Act, the plan is already funded, and online healthcare exchanges are scheduled to open Tuesday for uninsured Americans.
Get your trash picked up, even if you live in D.C.: Even if Mayor Vincent Gray’s attempt to declare all city workers essential is rejected, the district has about two weeks’ worth of money on hand already authorized by Congress, which might be enough to wait out a fairly brief shutdown.
Be protected by the U.S. military: All active-duty military personnel are exempt from furloughs, and Congress has approved a measure to continue to pay troops on time.
Ride Amtrak: While Amtrak receives federal subsidies, it’s organized as a corporation and collects enough revenue in ticket fees to outlast a brief shutdown.
Take Metrorail and Metrobus: Metro assured riders Monday that the system would stay open in the event of a shutdown, although it could shorten some trains (for example, from eight cars to six) if ridership is down because fewer people are going to work.
Travel by air: Federal air traffic controllers and most TSA agents would continue showing up to work, although you may find some longer lines at security checkpoints.
Apply for a new patent: The U.S Patent Office is funded for the next four weeks, which should be enough to outlast any government shutdown.
Safely eat meat: Meat inspectors with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will continue to report to work because they’re essential for public safety. Learn about the unemployment rate: The September jobs report will be released Friday.
Get an unemployment check: Checks will still be sent out, although some payments may be delayed due to a reduction in workforce.
Get food stamps: Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits will continue to be distributed.
Pay taxes: All tax payments will continue to be processed. Note that millions of taxpayers have requested 6-month extensions on their 2012 tax filings, and that the deadline for that is Oct. 15. That deadline is not expected to change.
Get weather warnings and watches: All National Weather Service offices will be open and will continue to provide forecasts and severe weather alerts.
During a shutdown, you can’t:
Apply for new Medicare or Social Security benefits: While current recipients will continue to receive payments, a reduction in staff would mean no new applications can be processed.
Visit the Capitol: While the Capitol will remain open for congressional matters, it will be closed to visitors.
Get a new small business loan: Existing loans would be honored, but new applications would not be accepted.
Go to the Smithsonian or National Zoo: About 90 percent of the museums’ 6,400 workers will be furloughed, with all museums and the zoo to be closed. The animals will still get fed, but visitors won’t be around to see that.
Camp in a national park: All national parks — from Yosemite to Shenandoah National Park — will close, and day visitors will have to leave immediately. (But longer-term campers already in parks will have two days to leave.)
Visit a Civil War Battlefield: Like national parks, historic battlefields will be closed.
Watch the Zoo’s Panda Cam: We know — in the event of a government shutdown, there are more important things for many people to worry about. But D.C.’s first panda cub in years was a cause for celebration around the region, and huge numbers of fans have flocked to the Panda Cam since the cub’s birth in August.
Visit the monuments: D.C.’s monuments are under control of the National Park Service, which means tourists wouldn’t get to visit sites such as the Lincoln, World War II or Franklin Delano Roosevelt memorials. The NPS will begin turning off fountains and blocking entrances early Tuesday in the event of a shutdown.
Check the legal work status of an employee: The E-Verify system allows employers across the country to check on immigration status, but it’s a federal website, which means it would be shut down.
Continue to be audited: The IRS will suspend audit activities. (They will begin again as soon as the government shutdown is over.)
Go rowing, if you’re part of a crew team that uses a boathouse on federal land: Many local high school teams use boathouses on the Anacostia and Potomac rivers, but access would be cut off in the event of a shutdown.

The awards show will be televised on October 15, but Miley already spoke out about what she thinks! “Monster mom” Carlotta Brett-Pierce was just sent to prison for 32 years for one of the most heinous crimes imaginable. She was given 32-years-to-life after her four-year old daughter Marchella died after being beaten and starved to death. The little girl was covered in bruises and open wounds and she weighed only 19 pounds when police picked her up. The little girl was drugged, beaten and tied to her bed at the time of her death. The little girl was force fed allergy pills and beaten in front of her brother, Tymel. When the boy came to his sister’s funeral, he brought food, so that his baby sister “can eat in heaven.” The boy is now deeply traumatized by what he saw his sister go through. He is now 7 years old. The prosecutor in the case, Jacqueline Kagan said, “he brought with him food because he knew she didn’t get enough. And he told his foster mother, ‘I hope that she gets enough food and water in heaven,’” The trial lasted a month, and ended on May 9. The jury only deliberated for one hour before sending the mother to prison. Calotta Brett-Pierce was given 32 years to life, and her mother Loretta was given up to 15 years for manslaughter. The mother was defiant to the end, refusing to take responsibility for what happened to her child. “I heard what you said,” she told the judge. Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Patricia DiMango said to the mother: “This child, at her tender age, was subjected to a h**l that no one should have to endure. What kind of person could do this to a child, let alone their own child?” she asked. Brett-Pierce’s attorneys argued that the mother had a sick child that she didn’t know how to care for. But prosecutors got her to admit that in all those years of her daughter being sick, the mother never took her to the pediatrician. The mother denied referring to her daughter as “that b*tch” during jailhouse phone conversations, instead referring to her as “my baby.” But there was a recorded call during which the mother said, “That b*tch wasn’t that f*cking light.” Child Protective Services got involved with the family when the mother gave birth to a boy who tested positive for drugs. Two social workers have also been charged with criminally negligent homicide for failing to prevent the little girl’s death.

September 24, 2013 (CHICAGO) (WLS) — The ABC7 I-Team reports four people have been charged in the Chicago mass shooting that left 13 wounded, including a 3-year-old boy who was shot in the head, according to Cook County prosecutors. Two South Side men initially were charged Monday evening with the shooting last Thursday in the Back of the Yards neighborhood. Kewane Gatewood, 20, and Bryon Champ, 21, were charged with three counts of attempted murder and aggravated battery with a firearm. Gatewood and Champ were scheduled to appear in court Tuesday. The additional two suspects, Tabari Young and Brad Jett, both 22, also were charged early Tuesday with attempted murder and aggravated battery with a gun. In a police report, Young “was identified as the person who shot 3-year-old Deonta Howard and 12 other victims.” Although all four suspects are being held legally responsible for the shootings, there were conflicting reports initially as to which one person was the actual shooter. The I-Team was told by authorities that one of the initial arrestees was the actual gunman on Thursday night. Chicago police said that the investigation was still a work in progress and that neither was the shooter. Other law enforcement sources told the I-Team that one of the first two arrestees was considered the gunman. The identity of a shooter, if it is known to investigators, is often not revealed publicly until all suspects in the crime are charged. “Not only do we believe a military-grade weapon was used in this shooting, but one of the offenders charged tonight was convicted of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon/possession of a firearm by a felon little more than a year ago,” Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy said Monday night. McCarthy added: “He received boot camp for that gun crime and was back out on the streets to be a part of this senseless shooting. That is unacceptable. To truly address violence for the long-term we need state and federal laws that keep illegal guns out of our communities and provide real punishment for the criminals who use them.” Chicago police were expected to talk more about the case during a news conference at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. Meanwhile, Pastor Corey Brooks of New Beginnings Church posted new photos of Howard, the youngest victim, to Twitter early Tuesday. The toddler remained in the hospital undergoing treatment for a gunshot wound to his face. A family member of Deonta Howard’s family issued a statement on the charges Monday night. “As long as justice is served, and they got the right guys, we’ll sleep a bit better,” said Curtis Harris, Howard relative. The little boy is now walking, talking and eating, according to an aunt. The other 12 victims were said to be doing better, as well. Defendants Champ and Gatewood were scheduled to be in Central Bond Court Tuesday morning in the criminal courthouse at 26th and California. Chicago police said both were known gang members. The Thursday night attack, that authorities tell the I-Team was in retaliation for a previous gang shooting a few weeks earlier, resulted in worldwide headlines that depicted Chicago street violence as out-of-control. In this case, the shooter opened fire on a crowd watching a basketball game in Cornell Square Park on the city’s South Side. He used a military-style assault rifle, according to investigators. The charges filed Monday night came down after detectives spent the day “interviewing several people of interest,” a police spokesman said earlier in the day. Sources familiar with the investigation said there was initially great reluctance on the part of neighborhood residents to cooperate with authorities. The Thursday night attack kicked off a bloody weekend in Chicago. The wave of violence between Friday night and Sunday night left three dead and 23 wounded. The executive director of the Back of the Yards Neighborhood Council says while shootings are down in the neighborhood overall, more opportunities for young people are needed.
-#WTF – 24 y/o Man Shot And Killed By Police For Seeking Help After Car Crash 
Police shot and killed a 24-year-old man who ran toward them in what they believed to be a threatening manner. The man was actually unarmed, and seeking medical help after being in a car accident. Three officers responded to a breaking and entering call in Charlotte, North Carolina on Saturday. A woman had called 911 to report a man who wouldn’t leave her front porch and kept knocking on the door. When the officers arrived, the man ran toward them. One of the officers fired a stun gun “unsuccessfully,” according to CNN. It was then that officer Randall Kerrick shot and killed the approaching man, Jonathan Ferrell.Ferrell was 24 and a former football player at Florida A&M University. Police found a wrecked car nearby, indicating that he may have been trying to get help. “It was a pretty serious accident,” Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Rodney Monroe told CNN affiliate WSOC. The crash was so severe that authorities now believe Ferrell had to climb out of the back window, affiliate WBTV reported. He ran to the closest house for help. The woman inside thought it was her husband. “To her surprise, it was an individual that she did not know or recognize,” Monroe told WBTV. “She immediately closed the door, hit her panic alarm, called 911.”

KANSAS CITY — A Missouri man was arraigned Thursday on charges that he recklessly infected a sexual partner with the virus that causes AIDS, and a prosecutor said he potentially could have infected 300 more people in two states. David Mangum, 37, faces a felony charge in Stoddard County Circuit Court in southeastern Missouri accusing him of exposing a 29-year-old man to human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), which causes a life-threatening failure of the immune system commonly known as AIDS, according to court documents. As well, Mangum admitted to having unprotected sex with more than 300 partners in Missouri and Texas since learning he was HIV positive in 2003, some of whom he had met through ads on the Craigslist Internet site, the court documents said. “This situation is a serious public health concern,” Russell Oliver, Stoddard County prosecuting attorney, said in a statement. “There are potentially 300 or more unknown victims that have been unknowingly exposed to HIV in this region. If any of those 300 individuals contracted the virus, all sexual partners of those victims have potentially been exposed.” Mangum, who worked in a grocery store in Dexter, Missouri, was arrested after his former partner learned in July that he was HIV positive. The man told police that Mangum had lied about having the virus. Dexter Police Detective Cory Mills said Mangum told him he hid his HIV status from sexual partners because he feared they would reject him. A suburban woman is accused of giving a man she didn’t know a ride in River North and then forcing him at gunpoint to have sex with her friend in the back seat. Cierra Ross, 25, of Olympia Fields, is charged with armed robbery and sexual assault in the July 26 incident, which prosecutors say started in River North when Ross picked up the victim. The 33-year-old-man was standing on the street in the 400 block of North Kingsbury Avenue at about 5 a.m. on July 26 when Ross pulled up and offered him a ride, Assistant State’s Attorney Amanda Pillsbury said in court Thursday. The man hopped in the passenger side. As Ross drove, she allegedly pulled out a black revolver, pointed it at the man and “demanded [he] get into the backseat of the car and have sex with [her] friend,” Pillsbury said. The man climbed into the backseat, where an unidentified woman made him take off his clothes. The man was then forced to have sex with the woman, even though he begged her to stop, Pillsbury said. The man saw “an opportunity to flee” when a pair of headlights came in to view. He ran out of the car wearing only a t-shirt, she said. The oncoming car was a taxi, and the driver picked up the nearly naked man and took him to his Berwyn home. Pillsbury said the taxi driver also let the man use his phone to photograph the license plate of the car where he had been attacked. The women also allegedly took cash and credit cards from the man. The credit cards were then used at several locations soon after the attack, Pillsbury said. Ross, who has also been convicted twice of misdemeanor solicitation of a prostitute, was ordered held Thursday on $75,000 bond by Cook County Judge Israel Desierto. The second woman has not been identified.
WTF – Woman Tries To Get Even With Her Boyfriend For Dumping Her….But This 
A Washington DC woman named Helen Marie Newsome is being accused of trying to MURDER an 8 year old boy named Jacob Soliz-Amaya. According to the boys father, Andy Amiya who used to date Helen, “she was trying to hurt me the best way possible, and what better way to hurt a parent than to hurt their kid.” Here’s what happened. Police say that Newsome, 26, hid in little Jacob’s closet for more than 12 hours – waiting for his father to leave for work. Once she knew the boy was alone, police allege that the 26-year-old RAT then burst out of the closet and began attacking Jacob, who had been sleeping. Marie Newsome allegedly tried to smother the boy. Luckily young Jacob was a FIGHTER. And he managed to FIGHT OFF the monster, by head butting her in the face. When Marie realized that she would NOT be able to MURDER the 8 year old with her bare hands, she allegedly turned to a weapon – a 5 pound dumbell. Police say the woman bashed Jacob in the head repeatedly with the dumbbell. But GOD was with the boy, and he managed to get away, and run to a neighbor’s house. Little Jacon was taken to the hospital where he received eight or nine staples in his head. Newsome is being charged with attempted FIRST DEGREE MURDER.
-#WTF – Aldi Confirms Up To 100% Horse Meat In Their “Beef” Products
The environment secretary is due to meet the Food Standards Agency, food suppliers and retailers on Saturday to discuss the horsemeat scandal after Aldi became the latest supermarket to confirm its withdrawn beef products contained up to 100% horsemeat. Owen Paterson said it was unacceptable that consumers were mis-sold products, but that the problems originated overseas. “We believe that the two particular cases of the frozen burgers from Tesco and the lasagne from Findus are linked to suppliers in Ireland and France respectively. We and the Food Standards Agency are working closely with the authorities in these countries, as well as with Europol, to get to the root of the problem,” he said. Paterson said he believed the food was safe but urged consumers to return products to the retailers. “The French authorities are saying they are viewing the issue as a case of fraud rather than food safety. Anyone who has these products in their freezer should return them to retailers as a precaution.”. Findus denied reports that the company first knew there was horsemeat in its products last year. “Findus want to be absolutely explicit that they were not aware of any issue of contamination with horsemeat last year,” it said in a statement. “They were only made aware of a possible August 2012 date through a letter dated 2 February 2013 from the supplier Comigel. By then Findus was already conducting a full supply chain traceability review and had pro-actively initiated DNA testing.” The Metropolitan police said in a statement it was not carrying out a criminal investigation. “Although we have met with the FSA we have not started an investigation and will not do so unless it becomes clear there has been any criminality under the jurisdiction of the Metropolitan police service.” Aldi said it felt “angry and let down” by its French supplier Comigel after tests on Today’s Special frozen beef lasagne and Today’s Special frozen spaghetti bolognese found they contained between 30% and 100% horsemeat. Comigel, which also produced the contaminated Findus beef lasagnes, has blamed its suppliers. Erick Lehagre said he believed his company was buying French beef from a company called Spanghero but it had since told him it had come from Romania. A spokesman for Aldi said random tests had shown that the products they had withdrawn contained between 30% and 100% horsemeat. “This is completely unacceptable and like other affected companies, we feel angry and let down by our supplier. If the label says beef, our customers expect it to be beef. Suppliers are absolutely clear that they are required to meet our stringent specifications and that we do not tolerate any failure to do so,” he said. The company added that it would test the meals for the veterinary drug phenylbutazone, often referred to as bute, but said it was confident the meals were safe. Hospitals and education authorities were also checking the food they provide for traces of horsemeat. A spokeswoman for the Local Authority Caterers Association said: “We are as sure as we can be that this is not affecting the school catering area.” She said there were strict guidelines around food safety and supplying dinners in schools, including transparency and traceability of ingredient provenance, and this was written into contracts. Food businesses have been told to send test results on all their products to the FSA by Friday but Paterson is expected to tell MPs in a statement on Monday that some suppliers have been complaining to departmental officials that they have come under pressure from supermarket suppliers to cut corners. As David Cameron indicated that he would have no qualms about eating the sort of processed meat dishes that have been at the heart of the recent scare, authorities insisted there was no evidence that frozen food in general was a risk to human health. But the FSA advised consumers who had bought affected beef lines from Findus not to eat them. They had not been tested for the presence of phenylbutazone, which is banned in the human food chain. It can cause a serious blood disorder in rare cases. The Guardian has also established that the FSA has been unable to trace all the horses slaughtered in the UK that tested positive for bute last year. The agency has routinely been testing less than 1% of slaughtered horses for the drug, but found four positives in a sample of 82 carcasses in 2012. It carried out a special additional survey on a further 63 horses last year and found 5% of those contained residues, bringing the total of positives to nine. The Red Lion abattoir, owned by High Peak Meat Exports, has admitted that two of its slaughtered horses had tested positive for bute “historically” but said this was typical of the industry as a whole and that residue levels were so low as not to be a public health issue. The abattoir is currently under investigation by the FSA for alleged animal welfare abuses, and three of its slaughterers have had their licenses to kill horses rescinded. The company said it was the FSA’s responsibility to inspect horses at abattoirs and decide whether they were fit for the human food chain. The FSA found six of the horses found to contain bute last year had been exported to France, two were still being traced, and one had been allegedly returned to two owners in the north of England for personal consumption. However the family of one of the owners, in Chorley, Lancashire, told officials they had never received the carcass nor expected to receive it. Some companies have told the Guardian they began testing their own products soon after the first cases were reported in Ireland in mid-January. Full details of the testing requirements will be sent to the industry on Monday, although the agency says companies already have enough information to get on with the job and return results by next Friday. The agency said evidence of the significant amounts of horse meat in burgers and lasagne pointed “to either gross negligence or deliberate contamination in the food chain”. It said two particular cases of horse DNA in frozen burgers from Tesco and the lasagne from Findus were linked to suppliers in Ireland and France respectively. “We are working closely with the authorities in these countries to get to the root of the problem. Our priority remains to protect UK consumers.” Tesco – which withdrew burger lines after one of its products made at an Irish plant had 29% equine DNA and withdrew lasagne made by Comigel – said it had already begun testing other beef lines at independent laboratories. Cow and Gate, one of the UK’s major baby food companies, began testing its 14 lines containing beef in the second half of last month. The results were due soon, it said. The company, part of the French-based multinational Danone, has no production plants in Britain but has factories in France and Spain. It insists it can trace meat back to a specific cow. Heinz said it did not source from Comigel and would be responding to the request for testing. “We only source beef for our baby food recipes as whole muscle meat. We are continuing to keep the issue under close review with our suppliers as more information becomes available about the incident and root cause.” Baxters and Bird’s Eye were among other companies who said they had begun their own tests. Both said none of their products came from any suppliers so far implicated. The Food and Drink Federation, which represents the interests of the UK food industry, emphasized the “small number” of products where significant levels of horse meat had been detected so far and said it was “unlikely” the national testing program would reveal negligence or fraud by other suppliers. Meanwhile Findus said it knew there was a potential problem with its lasagnes two days before the products were withdrawn. It was looking into claims by the Labour MP Tom Watson that meat used by Comigel may have been suspect since August last year. Labour has claimed the loss of 700 trading standards officers in three years has made this type of consumer fraud more widespread. It also points to FSA’s Meat Hygiene Service suffering cuts of £12m in the four years to 2014, with the result that the amount of food checked in laboratories has gone down by as much as 30%.

I’ll be able to buy my weed cheap, all off the broken dreams of others who are now in prison. I’m so stoked!” Critics are quick to point out Obama’s stance on marijuana when he initially ran for President. “Back in 2008 when running for President, Obama said he would be lenient on marijuana laws, but since taking office he’s done just the complete opposite,” said 30-year-old Chris Roybal from New Mexico. “He’s conducted major raids in every state that has legalized marijuana. He’s seized billions of dollars worth of property and assets, ruined families, and put thousands of people in prison. All of this over a harmless plant that should be legal in the first place. He is by far the toughest President on marijuana in over 20 years.” Dean Huls had his marijuana dispensary raided back in February and is now looking at 18 years in prison. “These auctions are beyond ridiculous. He’s taking the marijuana that’s been seized on a Federal level from states that have legalized it, and then selling it back to them. Obama is by far the biggest drug kingpin in the world and instead of being locked up in prison, he’s the President of The United States.” Garret Roach, head of the DEA task force in California, said he’s excited about what Obama is doing. “We’ll be carefully watching and tracking everyone that’s buying marijuana from these auction houses. Obama already gave us the green light for raids in all 50 states at the beginning of his presidency. These auctions will give our organization so many new leads in the war on drugs. I can’t wait to make more seizures and put these potheads in prison where they belong.” Marijuana auction houses will be setting up in all major cities of states that have legalized the drug. A man convicted of raping a woman collapsed after being informed that his victim was HIV positive. Richard Thomas, 27, broke into the Greater Manchester, UK home of an acquaintance on July 20th to find the unidentified woman asleep in her bed. The victim had taken a sleeping pill but awoke to find Thomas raping her from behind. Thomas later claimed that he was under the influence of multiple drugs including cocaine and ecstasy, and did not recall the incident but believed the woman’s version of events. He was sentenced to five years and four months and ordered to register as a sex offender. Prior to sentencing, Thomas was informed by police that his victim had tested positive for HIV. He collapsed from shock and asked to be rushed to a hospital for testing. Thomas told authorities he was aware the woman was sick but did not know the nature of her illness. His test results are due Friday. Thomas received no sympathy from his own lawyer, Virginia Hayton, who said, “it is his own fault, if he had not committed this offense, he would not have placed himself in this position.”

Johnny Calderon Jr., 19, and Gerald Allen, 18, attempted to rob two University of Virginia students at gunpoint, which turned out to be a huge, painful mistake, according to police in Charlottesville, Va. Police arrived on the scene to find the two students had beaten up and detained the suspects. Clearly, Calderon got the worst of the beating. His right eye was swollen shut and his face bloodied. However, Allen didn’t get off easy and arrived at the police station with a black eye and plenty of bruises. Calderon has been charged with two counts of attempted robbery, one count of pointing a firearm and using a firearm in the commission of a felony, WVIR-TV reports. Allen is facing two counts of attempted robbery. “Calderon is due in General District Court Friday morning for a hearing. Allen is due in court on October 3,” the report adds. There’s new evidence that the Chicago Police Department’s new “heat list” may be a valuable tool against the violence that has Chicago at the Tipping Point. The heat list is a point system which names 450 people police believe are most likely to kill or be killed based on criminal convictions, arrests and associations. Sources tell FOX 32 News a felon who may have had the highest point total of all is now back behind bars, facing multiple new felony charges. His name is Durane Oden. He and members of his gang posted a video earlier this month that appears to show Oden violating the probation he was on for a prior felony. At Ashland and Farwell, it was quiet after Friday night’s thunderstorms moved through, just the way Rogers Park Positive Loitering founder John Warner and his neighbors have worked for a dozen years to improve their corner of Rogers Park. A very different image of the intersection was posted on the internet a few weeks ago. “Peace Treaty? That ain’t us. We ain’t with that peaceful stuff,” a person in the video said. “I think the first reaction was shock. Because seeing the guys supposedly jumping up and down with heavy duty weapons in the middle of the street…at our intersection. That just blew everybody away,” Warner said. FOX 32 News has learned that, within days of the video surfacing on the internet, Chicago police went to the Rogers Park home of the 22-year-old Oden. They allegedly found the powerful firearm he had brandished in the video, as well as an estimated 36 grams of crack cocaine in a clear plastic bag. Oden’s now locked up in the Cook County Jail, awaiting trial on multiple felony charges and for violating probation on a previous felony conviction. An alleged co-star in the video, 21-year-old Darviss Hurt, is now back at Stateville prison for violating his probation by holding a firearm in the video. “I’d like to see them put away for the rest of their lives. They have no right being on these streets. These streets are not for them. And it goes for anybody who’s a gang banger or drug dealer,” Warner said. Warner said the incident helped to spur about two dozen Rogers Park volunteers to turn out Thursday night for what they call “positive loitering” at another intersection plagued by even more trouble. He said it’s a multi-racial coalition determined that has helped cut the number of murders in the 24th Police District by 71% since the early 1990s.

Chicago rapper Chief Keef is in danger of being evicted from the Illinois mansion he’s currently residing in. Keef (real name Keith Cozart) is being sued by his landlord, Georghe Simoniak-Sas, for failing to pay July and August’s rent. He says Keef owes $9,400. According to TMZ, the six-bedroom, 5,100 square foot home is valued at over $1 million. This is the latest in a lengthy list of legal troubles for Keef, who turned 18 Aug. 15. Last month, he was sued by a promotion company for failing to show up at a concert scheduled in London. Keef never responded to the lawsuit and had to fork over $213,019. On March 20, he was arrested for disorderly conduct near Atlanta and released the next day. Earlier this year, Keef was sentenced to 60 days in juvenile detention for violating his probation on a gun conviction.

MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) — An 18-year-old man was convicted of murder in the shooting of a baby who was riding in a stroller alongside his mom in a town in coastal Georgia. Jurors deliberated about two hours before finding De’Marquise Elkins guilty in the March 21 killing of 13-month-old Antonio Santiago in Brunswick. The man’s mother, Karimah Elkins, was on trial alongside him and was found guilty of tampering with evidence but acquitted of lying to police. De’Marquise Elkins’ attorney asked for bond for his client while they appealed, which a judge denied. Prosecutors said Elkins killed Antonio in an attempted robbery. The baby’s mother, Sherry West, also was shot. Another teen, 15-year-old Dominique Lang, is also charged with murder in the case and is set to be tried later. Sherry West testified during the two-week trial that she was walking home from the post office with 13-month-old Antonio Santiago in a stroller on the morning of March 21. She said a gunman demanding her purse shot her baby in the face after she told him she had no money. Prosecutors said 18-year-old De’Marquise Elkins and an accomplice, 15-year-old Dominique Lang, are the ones who stopped West. Prosecutors say the older teen pointed a small .22-caliber revolver at West and demanded money. When West refused several times to turn over the money, Elkins fired a warning shot and then shot West in the leg and shot the baby between the eyes, prosecutors said. The killing in the port city of Brunswick drew national attention, and the trial was moved to the Atlanta suburb of Marietta because of the extensive publicity locally. Prosecutors have said information from Elkins’ mother and sister led investigators to a pond where they found the revolver. Three men were charged after three weapons were found, police said. Ronnie Ramsey, 22, of the 2600 block of West 93rd Avenue in Crown Point, Ind., was charged with one count of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and criminal trespass to land, police said. Sheldon Cobb, 24, of the 500 block of Exchange Avenue in Calumet City and Rayvon Lollis, 19, of the 2700 block of East Goodrich, in Burnham were each charged with one count of aggravated unlawful of use of a weapon and criminal trespass to land, police said. A 54-year-old St. Louis woman was arrested for calling the police about her weed dealer. No, she wasn’t calling to turn him in for, you know, being a weed dealer. She was calling to bust him for charging too much for his product! Arlene Starks realized that her supplier was overcharged for marijuana, became angry and called the 911 emergency operator to report the “crime.” Police were happy to investigate and once they got all the information about this alleged overcharger for her, they took Starks to jail. Lucky for her, Starks was only charged with a misdemeanor count of “misusing 911” and she was released several days later.
